Jaimie Mathews

Jaimie earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from the University of California at Davis. Jaimie is a current Graduate Student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe where she is studying Marriage and Family Therapy. Jaimie is working on completing an externship and supervision for her License in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Jaimie has worked in a clinical setting with children ages 7 to 17 who suffered from a variety of behavioral and mental disorders including anxiety, depression, bi-polar, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and suicidal and homicidal ideations. Through Solution Focused Brief Therapy, patience, kindness, and understanding, Jaimie has helped clients to promote positive changes in behavior to help restore these children to their families.

In private practice, Jaimie has worked with individuals, couples, and families to identify, acknowledge, and overcome the challenges to happiness and understanding that the modern world presents many obstacles.

Jaimie’s passion is working with couples to build strong, Christian marriages.  Jaimie believes in preparing couples for the joy, and challenges, of marriage through pre-marriage counseling. Jaimie is also dedicated to helping restore marriages and families which have been challenged and helping people find forgiveness in order to begin healing.

​

Jaimie and her husband have been married for 13 years.  Throughout these years, Jaimie has experienced first-hand, the unique stresses that the men and women of the military, first responders, and their children face. Her experiences provide an invaluable knowledge base for helping active military, veterans, and current and retired first responders and their families overcome these challenges and build healthy relationships.

Jaimie and her husband live in the Tyler area with their two children. Jaimie believes in building a healthy lifestyle through a balance of healthy eating, exercise, faith, and family.
